Optimise your medical Dutch language skills with a private tutor in this online courses for doctors and nurses.-Medical Dutch for Health Professionals

This tutor-supported online course is aimed at people who need to use Dutch (or Flemish) in different areas of the medical profession. It is ideal for learners whose starting level of Dutch is equivalent to B2 (CEFR). The course is available to learners worldwide, taught on a one-to-one (individual) basis and all study and course materials are accessible online. All our tutors are native speakers of Dutch and/or Flemish and have extensive experience in teaching Dutch online. Holding a teaching degree as well as a PhD degree in Dutch language and translation, they are all current university teachers.

Course structure
Taught fully in Dutch, the course runs over a 10-week period and is built around ten thematic chapters. All activities are designed to develop the four language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing in a medical context. The content was developed in consultation with Dutch-speaking medical health professionals.  All ten chapters have a different theme, ranging from the human body, its functions and diseases to pharmacology and medical instruments. Each chapter includes authentic reading and listening materials and a large variety of tutor-supported writing exercises. All your work is corrected by your tutor. A key feature of the course are the video teaching sessions via Skype between you and your personal teacher. They allow you to further develop your speaking skills in a weekly one-hour lesson: you participate in role-play, learn to give medical presentations in Dutch and to discuss a wide variety of medical topics.
